AUTOMOTIVE SAFETY GLASS
Tempered Safety Glass The feature of tempered safety glass is such that the glass breaks into little fragments upon impact which is the standard norm in the automotive industry. Applications include side panels for doors, rear windows, side window for fiber shelf & bus slide windows etc.
This is made by a special heating and cooling process. In unforeseen circumstances whereby the glass is broken, it would shatters into granular blunt cullets instead of dangerous sharp fragments in ordinary annealed glass. The specially processed glass will break into larger pieces in the middle zone of the windscreen to allow visibility for the driver whereas the rest will break into smaller pieces, to allow the driver to drive safely for a distance. Application include front windshield for general vechiles & trucks.
Laminated Front Windscreen Glass Laminated front windscreen glass is made of two sheets of annealed glass bonded together with a polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayer and processed under heat & pressure. A two-tone coloured PVB interlayer is sometimes used to produce a top-shaded effect. This is not only attractive, but it also acts as a sun-screen. If broken, the glass fragments will adhere to the PVB interlayer which reduces the risk of injury to the drivers & passengers. Laminated front windscreen is the internationally acclaimed standard for automotive glass. Laminated Flat Glass Laminated Flat Glass provides strong resistance to pressure, impact & penetration. Thereby it is widely used to furnish all window positions for buses, coaches etc. Rear Windscreen Glass with Demister A ceramic patterns and heater lines or demisters is usually embedded onto the glass surface during the heating process to remove fog and mist from the glass.
